Pixelated Pop Art

This was the easiest swatch.

I took an image for reference and I used bits of unused images of pop art and I made a collage out of it.

Cloth that Talks B)

Hi people

The cloth satin is considered to be bright and bold which is the essence that I've chosen.
I thought of using it in one of my swatches.
Below are my explorations using this cloth.

I've taken blue,red and yellow as they are the main colours in Pop Art. I've cut into circles to show dots ( ben-day dots ) which are my main focus.

Below are the placements that I've explored.

After this I finalised one of them !

The POP-STAR

Heyyy guys !

you guys must be thinking;DAMMNN ANUJA, back at it again with the pop art :P (those who don't know it's a viral video)

Okay now in my 3rd swatch I've taken the starry background as an element,and as you can see below I've separated it,explored it with coloured papers,bottle caps,tooth picks and thermocol balls.

After all the visuals and material explorations, I decided to use thermocol balls and bottle caps for my swatch. I even explored how should all these materials be placed.

After using buttons in my work,I think they can make anything pretty :P and that's what they did to my swatch.

Below are some of my explorations. It seems like a 7 year old kid has made them :P

So.... the final outcome 

All I did was paste buttons on a sun board and added threads . This one was really simple and it is my personal favourite swatch and even my faculty liked it . wuuhhhuuuuu *dancing*

Haha .....dramatic enough?

So below you can see some of my explorations. I picked up an element:LIPS and I started exploring it. Different colours, different shapes, different material.

I ended up with this...

Can't really guess how I started up with lips and ended up here. Right?

Well I actually took the lower lip,attached two of them together and got this motif. I used tissue paper, glue and photo inks to give it a 3D effect.

I hope the feedback is good (fingers crossed)

What are swatches?

 A sample strip cut from a piece of material.

These are some of my explorations..which I did after a lot of sleep ..dreaming ..and then woof! So, it will probably take me into a flow of just scribbling or doodling..and hope so final swatches. 

These are some pictures of my scribbling of variety of dots using different mediums like soft pastels, oil pastels,coloured shavings,the other one shows the colours that I've made using OHP sheets and photo inks,  I'm still working on this,and then there are some other scribblings of the elements that I've directly taken from my theme.

What is an Inspiration board?

For those who don‘t already know, an inspiration board is a collage of images meant to kick-start your imagination.

My theme for the project is Pop art,the essence that I've taken out is THE DOTS or THE BENDAY DOTS.The dots are the most prominent element of my theme and I've chosen them because I like how these small bits synchronise and create a whole image(chota packet,bada bomb).
I've started working on my swatches using my essence,will add some of my scribbling in my next post.

"CANDID" moments

Hi again Folks !!
It's almost 1 am  and I have lots of work to do :/ . I've to wake up at 7:30 in the morning rush to college, but I'm sitting here making collages of my so called candid pictures and writing blogs :D

Oh god I really need to set my priorities straight  :p 

So here's some pictures of me apparently working and searching for information and again showing off my work LIKE A BOSS B-)

The one thing that I've learnt from this project or after opting for fashion design is that WE SHOULD NOT PROCRASTINATE! 
I've just realised it, but I still need to work on actually following it :P

Because I choose to see the world in bright BOLD colours!

What is a colour board?

A colour board is like a colour palette which includes all the basic colours that are used the most in the theme one has chosen.

I've cut out circles from different coloured sheets and pasted 

them as if they're popping out.

The colours that are most used in pop are are: Yellow, Red , 

Pink , Violet , Green 

They all are bright and bold colours which shows the 

characteristics of my theme POP ART.

The Material Board

What is a Material board?

A board which contains all the different kinds of materials that gives a feeling or have been used in making a particular project.

My material board contains bottle caps, bold coloured lipsticks, polka dots cloth ,coca cola can, and a splash of colours made with photo inks.

Just giving a look at it you'll know it gives us a feeling of Pop art.

The materials in this are those which we use on a daily basis.

I never thought that I would be using lipsticks and cans like this :p

It was fun collecting all these materials! I literally had to drink a chilled coca cola today so as to place this empty can right here. I've had to go to flee markets to get these lipsticks, the cloth and just the bottle caps :p

It was all worth the effort.

Keep Calm and add POP to everything !

I remember reading a quote ; BOLDLY BE A POP OF COLOUR IN A BLACK AND WHITE WORLD :D. This quote really motivated me. It's been almost three weeks that I've been working on this project and I've actually seen a change in me, in my attitude. This movement actually brought out the boldness or should I say the 'POP'-ness in me.

What is a Mood board?

A mood board is a type of collage consisting of images,

text, and samples of objects in a composition. They may be

physical or digital, and can be "extremely effective" 

presentation tools.

As you all know Art can't be expressed verbally, so mood boards are effective, that way. This mood board conveys the idea of pop art. It also saves time in communicating my idea.So it's after midnight , with my laptop and coffee (it's a must). I started collecting images which gave me a 'POP' feeling. After this I made a collage using photoshop and the techniques I've learnt in my CAD(Computer Aided Design) skills.

Hey guys!
I've been working on a project on POP ART as you all know. The above visual shows my concept board which I've made using photoshop. I've highlighted pop art because that's what my concept is (obviously), the background is a collage of famous pop images with a film strip border to give them a dramatic look.You all can see that there's a lot of yellow,this is because it is one of the main colours which gives us a 'POP' feeling.After using all the necessary tools this is the end product.
